Martha Stewart's Beauty Secrets

OH MY!  Sallyanne’s Telling

By VISAGE+ Brand Ambassador Sallyanne Clarke

Fact: The smoothness of your complexion depends more on what you put into your stomach than the serum and creams you put on your skin.

You need a moisturising sunscreen, but the best way to care for your skin is by feeding it with the correct nutrients every single day.

Martha Stewart, Snoop Dog's Olympics sidekick, credits a daily dose of antioxidants for keeping her complexion glowing from within. She also has occasional laser treatments to help repair sun damage and admits to using a bit of filler, but keeps it subtle. She also avoids collagen supplements.

Nutrition experts recommend boosting your own collagen levels with antioxidants instead of taking manufactured powdered collagen. A carefully balanced daily combination of vitamins, minerals, and humectants will help plump up your skin and give it a healthy gleam.

Martha’s morning routine includes a pint of green juice made with celery, cucumber, parsley, spinach, mint, ginger, a green pear, orange wedges with the rind left on, and either papaya, mango, or pineapple to sweeten. For those who may not have access to these ingredients or the time to prepare this juice daily, a balanced diet and the use of supplements can be beneficial.

I take turmeric-based VISAGE+ supplements to keep my skin smooth. I initially used MY| Clear Skin capsules to clear up menopausal acne, and then moved on to MY| Nutra Glow for its added lycopene from cherry tomato extract.

Both products mix high-potency antioxidants with hyaluronic acid, giving the skin a healthy gleam all year round. The key is to never run out of these supplements.

I noticed a big difference in my skin when I ran out of supplements during a holiday – blemishes, dehydration, and increased sun sensitivity.

I'm never without them now and at 62, my skin has never been in better shape. With the help of MY| Nutra Glow, I plan to look every bit as good as Martha at 83!
