VISAGE Nutraceutical was founded by sisters Una and Joanne Brankin, originally from the south-eastern shores of Lough Neagh in Co Antrim.
The company's flagship product, MY|Clear Skin, is based on three years' in-depth research, extensive consumer trials in Ireland, the UK and the US, and on the results of 236 published clinical studies.
The sisters always had an interest in dermatology. Joanne, a Los Angeles-based OT, had acne in her youth and problem skin into her 40s. Una, a former healthy and beauty writer, discovered the effectiveness of plant-based treatments while working as a media consultant for the leading French skincare company, GUINOT, and Radiant Health Nutrition.
She went on to study nutrition and experiment with micronutrients at her home in Carlingford, Co Louth, combining extracts until she came up with an innovative formula for problem skin, which also hydrated the complexion.
After intensive research and consultation with nutritionists and biochemists from the Ulster University and Queen’s University, Belfast, Una hired expert skincare consultants and a highly experienced sports nutritionist from Dublin to balance the ingredients and enhance the formula.
Irish, UK and US consumer trials for the resulting supplement, MY| Clear Skin, not only gained excellent results for congested skin and rashes - they also confirmed the formula’s efficacy for improving and hydrating sun-damaged skin.
The brand was quietly introduced in Ireland in 2022. The VISAGE+ team includes the highly qualified Emma Zacharopoulu, Brand Manager UK & Ireland, and Ellen Fretwell, Brand Manager Australia.
The company's Brand Ambassadors include Sallyanne Clarke, the Dublin-based restaurateur and columnist; Lisa Redmond AKA the_acnequeen20; and leading UK stylist Julia Sokele.
Brand consultants include Dr Catherine O'Reilly, Cancer Research Institute, and Marion Simms, owner of SkinSense Wellness Centre, Beverly Hills, LA;
The company is formulations for hair, digestion, and sleep, all to be made in Ireland.
